Components

The component that I want to suggest here is to add QUCS component with a delta and wye three phase ac voltage source.

Proposal

Being a QUCS simulator user I am still in the middle of exploring the system. One time when I was performing my circuit simulation on single phase AC circuit such us RL, RC, RLC it’s all fine with correct and liable results. Then, I switch to a three phase system connection which is very common in electrical engineering. But, unfortunately while exploring to the QUCS components I did not found any three phase supply like Delta and Wye connection, the only available is single phase. So, for these reason I end up with my work and try to have other open source project.
I believe that this QUCS project would be very helpful for both instructors and students out there. So, why not extending its scope to capture this type of simulation.
What I am proposing here is to add an AC three supply like delta, wye and any other related supply system to the QUCS components.

Mockups / Examples

This is the current system of QUCS component under the sources category.

Observe that the only available supply is only AC single phase voltage supply.
If the suggestion will be granted, this is how it looks like.

Components for an AC 3- Phase supply for both delta and wye connection will be added to components under sources category.

Benefits

Here are the benefits if implemented;

  1. QUCS will be able to simulate a three phase system which is a very common practice or system in electrical engineering field.
  2. QUCS scope will be widen for sure.
  3. QUCS will be now more marketable because the system is all in one. All in one in terms of its scope. Because it could simulate not only electronics with low voltage supply but also in electrical system with much higher voltage supply.
