In the search for valuable projects which require some creation or updating of logo I found the extension Tusk and I put myself in direct contact with the owner of the project to which I offered my services as a designer. You can see the conversation here

The History

Tusk is an administrator which can scan, transmit and receive data stored in the cloud between the users and suppliers themselves, for example Google Drive, Dropbox, OnedrivepCloud, OwnCloud and NextCloud. It stands out because it uses Keepass without the need to install and adds the autocomplete function to Chrome and Firefox.

I read a bit about Keepass, it is a password manager, which stores and protects your passwords, user names, attachments, encrypted files and free notes, all information is stored in a local file system that is a different system than Cloud.

This administrator is compatible with Windows operating systems as the main one, in MacOS and Linux you can use it with Mono. It should be noted that it has a password generator that supports two-step authentication. These functions, among others, locate Keepass as some of the 4 most used password managers. Tusk is a fork of CKP, and seeks to provide improvements to the UI, better security practices, and KDBX version 4 support using the KdbxWeb library. Tusk is formerly known as CKPX. More information and a user guide can be found on the Wiki

The proposal

My proposal is an update of the logo that the owner already had. I wanted to respect his words when he says:

Why is it called Tusk?
I originally wanted to call it Elephant, as in An elephant never forgets. I tried this name on a couple of friends and they were unimpressed. I wanted to find a name that was more concise but keep the elephant imagery. Ergo, tusk.

With this in mind, I began to sketch, I did not make many variants because I did not want to lose the representative shape of the elephant. I presented two different proposals, one is quite linked to the original logo, only that it perfects lines and I add an illumination. I always thought that the owner was going to choose this one, but it was not like that. The second proposal, the winner, changed the perspective of the elephant head and placed it facing to the right.

Being an elephant the typography that accompanies it should have strength and be robust. Cairo is a typography with many variants and although it has no endings, it has strength in its lines and its bold version is robust but does not lose its legibility, besides being that the name is composed of few letters I can play a lot with the size. In both proposals use the same source, the ligth version is used for the slogan.

Benefits

The proposal focuses on helping to improve the project. Through a small investigation, I managed to create an attractive and differential form. My logo offers a new visual identity, it is a modern logo, easy to remember, minimalist and with a great visual impact that adapts to different environments. Mentioning also that the owner of the project was very comfortable with the work

Proof of authorship

As a final point I must emphasize that although the design was chosen, that the files that complied with the size requirements that the owner requested were sent, the logo has not yet been used by the owner, the reasons for I don't know. I just hope nothing bad happened.
