Introduction and Campaign Strategy
My name is Ebixy Ebi Laffin and I have a page on Facebook where I promote open source applications.
Cloud computing can be viewed as a disruptive technology. It has revolutionalized how we store and keep our data safe. Some operate as public servers and some are private.
Owncloud is open source and the data is stored in your private cloud. When data is stored in a private cloud, the user or owner of the cloud has complete control over access and privileges.
These days our mobile phones and computers do not hold enough physical memory to contain all our files. Cloud computing is the solution, files can be accessed at our convenience and you don't have to worry about running out of physical memory.
Ghana is one of the countries in Africa where internet technology is taking a centre stage in daily living. With an increase in internet activities comes a need for where to store all the data generated.
Bidding strategy
I choose the Cost Per Click (CPC) bidding strategy. Bidding method was set as automatic meaning Facebook is to deliver the ad at the lowest cost possible. The call to action in the ad message was very clear, the idea is to increase downloads of this application.

Thank you for the contribution. The ad achieved its goal, as your ads always do.
However, as is often the case, I have a quibble to make: I'm not sure focusing the targeting on cloud storage was the way to go. Owncloud offers no cloud storage. It leverages one's existing cloud storage, as you note in the post. Why not focus on the project's features, such as collaborative software and file sharing (both are "additional interests" in facebook's ad manager)?
I also question the decision to limit the audience to people interested in open source software. This is a product with a broader appeal. To my mind, one of the potential benefits of an ad campaign is to bring potential users to open source who wouldn't think of themselves as open source users.
