Introduction

Hello everyone!
Welcome to my 34th translation for the Node.js project!
Today I decided to resume my fast and steady pace, to do so I chose a quite long and complicated file.
Keep reading to check out more about this new translation report!
Enjoy!

Project Details

Node.js is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine. It uses a non-blocking event-driven I/O model, which makes it a lightweight and efficient framework. I believe in open source projects and I think it's essential to work on this great project because the package ecosystem of Node.js, called npm, is the largest ecosystem of open source libraries in the world.
Given its importance, its translation into many languages is almost due.
I'll use my skills to make an high quality translation and maybe to learn something more about Node.js world.

Translation Overview

This is my 34th translation for the Node.js project.
As I said, I started the translation of a long and complicated file to must be careful with: child_process.md. I decided to do this first report with a words quantity not too high, so I double checked the translation carefully and delivered an high quality work.
However, the final result was more than satisfactory: 2175 total words and 1131 clean words.
In this 34th part I translated about what is a child process, what is its function inside Node.js and how it interacts with the parent process going deeply about the Asynchronous Process Creation and how to spawn".bat" and ".cmd" files on Windows.

Words left in English

This is a list of words I considered to left in English in order to give a more understandable translation.
My choice is based both on the project owners guidelines and on the web research carried out by myself.

Difficult words/sentences to translate in Italian

In this report I have not met words or sentences which put me in serious difficulty or which I have not been able to translate properly, even if it wasn't an easy translation.

What did I learn new?

  • Child Process - What is a Child Process and what is its role in child_process.md: A child process in computing is a process created by another process (the parent process). This technique pertains to multitasking operating systems, and is sometimes called a subprocess or traditionally a subtask.
There are two major procedures for creating a child process: the fork system call (preferred in Unix-like systems and the POSIX standard) and the spawn (preferred in the modern (NT) kernel of Microsoft Windows).
    Source
  • Parent Process - What is a Parent Process and how to manage it through child_process.md: it is a process that has created one or more child processes.
    Source
  • System Call - What is a System Call and how it works in child_process.md: it is the programmatic way in which a computer program requests a service from the kernel of the operating system it is executed on.
    Source
  • Override - What is an Override (or Method Overriding) and how it works with child processes: in object-oriented programming, it is a language feature that allows a subclass or child class to provide a specific implementation of a method that is already provided by one of its superclasses or parent classes.

Feedback & Conclusion

A file full of code and technical words, probably going forward will give me more difficulty.
But what do you think about it? Did you know what I learned today?
Let me know, leave a comment below!
Thank you very much for your time and see you in the next post!

Hi @ robertbira,

Congratulations on another great report! The translation work is, as usual, extremely good and the handling of the code as well.
Keep up the good work!
