Hello, my dear @steemians! How are you today? I would like to share with you my seminar yesterday about agility.

The 3 campuses (Main, Banilad, and Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue) participating in the In-service Training. It has well participated together with our energetic and experienced speaker in the field of Agile Development.

There are Software Crises that is still one of some issue in the development today such as unreliable, delivered late, prohibitive in terms of cost modification costs, impossible to maintain, performing at an inadequate level, and exceeding budget costs. For this reason AGILITY in software born in the development with the MANIFESTO that *individuals and interactions over process and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation, customer collaboration over contract negotiation, and responding to change over following a plan. This is how to recover better ways of developing software by doing and helping each other.

The speaker also thoroughly discuss the 12 Principles of AGILE that will help the team to efficiently and effectively achieve one common goal. Just like one of the Engineers telling me that they are hiring attitudes over skills because skills can be acquired in much training and workshop but the attitude towards work cannot. Being the Top Notchers in the board examination is not merely the requirement in employment but rather your compassion and commitment to your work being assign to you in which simplicity is the art of maximizing the amount of work done. He added that what if works calls you midnight for maintenance, some attitude will never mind it but once you are committed you have to stand, walk and fix the problem.

Agile and Scrum can be used interchangeably. AGILE is the philosophy while SCRUM is the implementation.

This was taken during the giving of Certificate of Appreciation to our very own industry speaker who has implemented Agility in his department together with mam Joy Yaun who handed the certificate to him.

SCRUM VALUES:

• Focus. The focus on only a few things at a time to work well together and produce excellent work.

• Courage. There is a need to support one another since they are not alone and have more resources at our disposal. This will give the courage to undertake greater challenges.

• Openness. As they work together they practice expressing how we're doing and what's on our way. They learn to express concerned so as to how to address it.

• Commitment. Because they have great control of their own destiny, they become more committed to success.

• Respect. As they work well together, sharing successes and failures, they come to respect each other and help each other worthy of respect.

This was taken during the ongoing discussion of Agility. The participants focused on his discussion because of his real example that happened when he was the SCRUM MASTER.

ROLES in SCRUM

Product Owner.

The one who in charge of the Return on Investment (ROI) of the company that would include the values and profitability. It will define the vision and roadmap for the product and elicits product requirements. It is also considered as the "voice of the customer" because he will accept or reject work results. It will also ensure the development team understands items in the PRODUCT BACKLOG and optimizing the value of work performance of the team since he is always present and available.

Scrum master Quality:

• Responsible;
• Humble;
• Collaborative;
• Influential;
• Knowlegable;
• Committed; and
• Servant Leader.

The main job of the scrum master is to ensure that it is being understood and facilitates the team's progress toward the goal. It will also increase productivity of the team in any way possible and a chief communicator for the team which keeps information about the team progress viable and up-to-date to all parties.

Team.

They own the daily stand-up meeting as well as the one who determine the relative product backlog items. It main focus is to design, develop and test products that will help them identfy and sign-up for tasks to be implemented in users stories.

Stakeholder.

The Executives and Directors of the company which are experts in the design, usability or content that are involve in every sprint or iteration. They will also participate and contributes to planning and demo which is also considered as the actual customer.

The project of the students become easy to handle and it was being suggested to met every two weeks also so that they can assure that at the end of the semester they fulfill the backlog given by product owner.

The seminar start at 9:00H and finish 15:00H with the active participation of everybody because the speaker can ignites the attention to become involves in the discussion.
