If you are not a programmer, how can you contribute to utopian.io?

Utopian is a community which rewards contributions to open source projects.

There are many different categories of contributions that are eligible for rewards:

• Development (i.e. coding of open source projects)
• Bug hunting (finding errors)
• Suggestions
• Graphics
• Analysis
• Documentation
• Visibility (i.e. marketing)
• Tutorials and video tutorials
• Blog posts for open source projects
• Copywriting
• Translations

As such people with all kinds of skills can contribute to open source projects and be rewarded by Utopian. Really all you need is an interest in the open source world and a desire to (work hard!) and get involved.

It's worth bearing in mind that contributions to Utopian typically require (much) more work than a typical Steem blog post, since a Utopian post is a report of the work done rather than the work itself. Rewards can be high but it is by no means a get-rich-quick scheme. Not all posts pass moderation and not all posts are rewarded.

As such it's best to look at the above list and see if any of the categories actually interest you, i.e. would you still do them if you weren't sure of being rewarded?

From a personal perspective I was already doing analysis of the Steem blockchain data when Utopian was launched so this was an obvious fit for me as a starting point to contribute to Utopian. I had also wanted to to pick up my coding skills for some time and eventually I was able to start making development contributions.
