Project Details

The Curious Expedition is a rogue-like expedition simulation set in the 19th century. It's the first game by indie developer Maschinen-Mensch. The game is available on Steam, GOG, Humble Store and at the official homepage http://curious-expedition.com. The game has been regularly updated through out the last 2 years. A list of all the updates can be found here. For information on modding the game, go here . [source and more info]

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview: This is a really large project, approximately 80.000 words and obviously it's gonna take me a while to finish. In each part I plan to translate anywhere from 700 to 1200 words. Most of the translation is very easy as there are few, if any, technical terms.
  • Languages: The project is being translated from English to Greek.
  • Word Count: According to Crowdin, for Part 2# I translated 1163 words, for a total of 2263 translated words . Since most of the strings translated were part of the in-game dialogues there were only a handful (1, maybe max 2%) that were left in the original language, e.g. screenshot.

Thank you for contributing to the Davinci-Utopian translation project @trumpman!
This was the 5th contribution we have received from you.

As I already mentioned in my comment on your first part of this project:
You are currently working on the Curious Expedition, a game that, even though it may not contain difficult terms and vocabulary, is one of the biggest projects a member of our team has ever tried to work on (almost 80,000 words). Good luck on this difficult task!
When you started translating, a handful of strings were already submitted (but not approved or voted) by another translator irrelevant to the Davinci-Utopian project. You have gone through them and checked them for any corrections that needed to be made, you have even fixed a few of them that were problematic.

I don’t have anything new to add on this second part, once again:

  • your translation is correct and accurate
  • your language style is perfectly adjusted to game’s style
  • your grammar, spelling, syntax or punctuation are again correct

Your presentation post is correct.

I will once more praise your choice of words in this second part! Just like in the first part, you have managed to preserve the atmosphere and feeling of the game without spoiling the original (English) text or making your translation sound weird in the target (Greek) language! Keep it up that way! I am sure in the end you will have given us an amazing translation of the whole project!

Thank you once again for being on our team and doing such a great job! :)
