The Curious Expedition Greek Translation - Part 48 (~ 1118 words)

Current Session

Yipeeee, another translation down, one god only knows how many are left for "The Curious Expedition"! As you can see on the title, this is translation No. 48 for this project, with this one bringing me to having 58 % of TCE completed:

With my current rythm, I think I will have translated the whole game in two maybe three months.

Now, let's get back to the current session. Like I have said 48 times counting this post, this was again a very easy translation. Just have a look at some of the strings I worked on during this session:

You aborted the expedition

Now go, Adventure Awaits!

Tell your friends about RIVALS.

[I'm so tired.|Can we go home?|We'll die out here.|What's the point of this again?|Didn't we see enough yet?|I'm up for a few more days!]

Tough, I know :P

Like with many of my previous translations, I again inserted a few original strings of my own here and there (always making sure they fit with the context provided) as the devs give us the liberty to do so!

Now, let me conclude with a small taste of the music I enjoyed while preparing this contribution:

That's all folks!

Project Details

The Curious Expedition is a rogue-like expedition simulation set in the 19th century. It's the first game by indie developer Maschinen-Mensch. The game is available on Steam, GOG, Humble Store and at the official homepage http://curious-expedition.com. The game has been regularly updated through out the last 2 years. A list of all the updates can be found here. For information on modding the game, go here . [source and more info]

Gameplay

And here's what I believe to be the official trailer:

Why Did I Choose This Project?

Well, to be honest, I chose this project because all the other options were applications with boring names like Freecad and Jabref. I thought it would be fun (edit: less boring) to translate a game instead. And thank god... I was right!

I am sure my team members are very jealous that I get to translate strings like "Let's eat", "Giant tortoise", "I feel happy and sad", and "Oh my god" while they get to translate stuff like "resolving duplicate keys", "Port Design", "Constraining modifier key" and "Corrugated elements"... LOL!

Too bad for them, now they have to live with the choices they have made....MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview: This is a really large project, approximately 80.000 words and obviously it's gonna take me a while to finish. In each part I plan to translate anywhere from 700 to 1200 words. For the most part, the translation is very easy as there are few, if any, technical terms.
  • Languages: The project is being translated from English to Greek.
  • Word Count: According to Crowdin, for Part 48# I translated 1118 words, for a total of 49223 translated words. Since most of the strings translated were part of the in-game dialogues, there were only a handful (1, maybe 2%) that were left in the original language, e.g. screenshot.

Thank you for contributing to the Davinci-Utopian translation project @trumpman!
This was the 48th part for the “Curious Expedition” project and your 51st contribution to the translation category in total.

That was an absolutely fantastic translation! Only one mistake (that you could have avoided though), in this string where you wrote "Γ16" instead of "Γ86".

Your post is very good, however I noticed a couple of typos (for example, you wrote "rythm" instead of "rhythm"). Apart from that it was very good and I enjoyed reading it.

Keep it up, I don't have anything else to add!
