what is the meaning of V sign at taking photo

we can see that a lot of people specially japanese people show the V sign when they take a picture. Do you know meaning of V sign while taking picture?

specially V sign means Victory. Then why the people use V sign while taking photo? It has some reason. First reason is war of 100 year(1337-1453) between england and france. The england shouldier used to use this sign toward French shouldier to upset them in war. while the england shouldier captured by french shouldier, all of their(england shouldier) fingers had cut.

the second reason is second worldwar(1939-1945). British Prime minister Winstone Churchil had showed it for wining the war. while bombing in Nagashaki and Hiroshima in Japan he had used V sign wising for peace.

third is Anti-campaign for Vietnam war(1960). At that time one of the Exhibiter had showed it in front of journalist wising for peace. it was viral at that period.
