Ahh, Vacation!

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary a couple of months ago, but are now finally getting around to celebrating!

We waited a little bit until Kendra was slightly older before we felt comfortable having someone watch her... she just turned 1 so we dropped off the kids at their grandparents and are off! We landed in Texas for a few day getaway!

I plan to post a little bit about what we are doing, but today was fairly uneventful - we flew into Dallas, got a rental car, explored a little, and then checked in to the rental house, which is on a lake. We are excited for the downtime!

One fun thing we did get around to today was a visit to the Fort Worth Stockyards, which is a historic district hosting a former livestock exchange. They still have lots of livestock around, and the famous Texas Longhorn cattle breed can be found in multiple places on the grounds. There are a number of restaurants, shops, bars and hotels around the Main Street area and there are weekly rodeos held. All in all, a fun stop! Here are a few pictures:

We did get some Tex-Mex food for lunch and enjoyed it with some Mexican Coca-Cola as well... it is a little sweeter than the version of the Coke found in the US.
