Visiting Chillion Castle 2！

Perhaps one of the more special features of this castle is the fact that it sits on a rock well above the water level. It’s an Island between the Lake of Geneva and apparently belong to multiple Counts for a few centuries. The Castle has a beautiful design with open bridge structures allowing for beautiful views of the surrounding waters. It reminded me of some of the older movies I watched a while back, perhaps there would be a few knights in shining armour in the courts?

Perhaps one of my favourite parts of Chillion Castle would relate to the volume of greenery and flowers that were planted around the area. There were so many beautiful flowers around the grounds it made for a wonderful walk on mild cloudy day. There was no fee for visiting the castle and it is apparently one of the most visited historic sites in Switzerland. Arriving early is beneficial to get an uninterrupted look throughout the castle, I was told that it can get quite busy during peak periods. Exploring the castle grounds and reconstructed interior was an interesting part of the visit. It felt as if I was walking through a medieval flashback, the halls were majestic and various courtyards kept pristine and lavish. For those wishing to experience something a little different in Geneva, Chillion Castle ranks highly on my list as a worthy visit.
