Lego-Journey in Edinburgh

Hello my friends on Steemit.

My girlfriend and I had a great idea to reproduce some pictures we took on our trip trough the United Kingdom in form of Lego.
In Kobenhavn, Denmark we could design our own Lego minifigures so we had the perfect setup to do this kind of project.
The main goal is to make a pictured book for the niece of my girlfriend but after some response I got from friends I thought it would be nice to share those moments with you guys as well.

We started at the airport of Basel, Switzerland so we took this picture.

The original looked like this.

The plane took us to the beautiful Edinburgh. A wonderful place to be. Especially while there is the crazy Fringe-Festival for buskers and street-performer.

We wandered around the old-town and took a selfie in front of the Hub, a church right beneath the Castle.

As you see we had beautiful weather. The sun almost blinded me for this selfie.

We could not miss a visit to the castle so we went all the way up to the gate of the castle.

(The facial expression of the guards as they spotted our Legos was priceless :-) )

After a exciting day of watching really funny street magicians and comedians we went back to the hotel. We could not resist to capture the hotel where J. K. Rowling finished the deadly hollows. It looked beautiful in the night.
(We visited all the other Harry Potter related places too but those pictures are for another blog)

We took the almost mandatory hop-on hop-off tour with the bus around the city.
(There is no original photo because this setup was impossible to reproduce. We were so lucky that the guy in the Lego exhibition let us place our own figures in their bus.)

Right next to the castle there is the museum of optical illusion which is worth every pound. On the roof of that there is the camera obscura. A mirror on top of the tower which leads the reflected light onto a round table through multiple lenses. That way you can watch over the whole city. This technique is really old but still functions perfectly.
(They let us place our minifigures onto their model as well. A huge thanks to the crew building all those replicas!)

We went to the Nelson monument which is on a little hill right in front of Arthurs Seat.

Our last step in the lego-journey was a tour around Stirling, Loch Lomond and the whisky distillery of Glengoyne.

Here we are on a small hill next to the Loch Lomond.

This is it for the moment but we are working on the next batch of pictures. This time in Inverness and after that in Salisbury, Stonehenge and London as well.

The ultimate goal is a journey of us two chasing our cat around the UK to have a funny story for her niece.
