The Hippie Market in Portugal!
Once a month in Barão de San João in Portugal this incredible Hippie Market happens!
A little deserted park and seemingly abandoned skate park, once a month turns into a village of mobile homes!
People already gather a few days before. People from all over the world, living in mobile homes, knowing about the market by word of mouth.
Sunday is the big Market Day, and people sell their handmade jewelry, clothes, paintings and others sell food and drinks. There is also local people with vegetables and one part for second hand.
No one needs a license or to pay or sign up for a spot on the market. Everyone just comes and finds a spot to set up their stall.
We also set up a little stall! Roberto, who is a professional Italian chef made super delicious Organic Homemade Gnocchi from our camper and I was serving and setting up a small table with my art stickers and postcards and Roberto's macrame.

In the meantime the skate park was converted to a playground for the Children, with soap bubble show, painting stalls and lots of play on the skate ramp!
The sky was amazing the evening before the market!
There were also a pizza oven set up at the Kids Area
The sky kept getting more beautiful, couldn't stop taking pictures!

There were also concerts during the market and after the market, people stayed and partied or hung out a few days, until the temporary village slowly dissolved and the little park was once again left to itself, until next month.

I read about this a while ago on Steemit , and I was amazed by the pictures and video back then. I love these kind of things.. Thanks for sharing it really seems like a place to go when in Portugal ;)
