All Protein Originates in Plants - Dr. Milton Mills

in #vegan6 years ago

This is a key understanding when it comes to the mechanics of life on Earth - eating dead animals is a poor substitute for going closer to the source of what we need.

Dr. Milton Mills is the Associate Director of Preventive Medicine with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and co-author of PCRM’s report on Racial and Ethnic Bias in the U.S. Dietary Guidelines. Dr. Mills serves as the Race & Nutrition Specialist and Board Adviser for A Well Fed World. Whether internist Dr. Mills is practicing at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia or at free clinics in Washington, D.C., his prescription for patients is likely to include some dietary advice: go vegetarian. “Medical research shows conclusively that a plant-based diet reduces chronic disease risk, so that’s something I absolutely encourage my patients to move toward,” says Dr. Mills, a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Mills doesn’t limit his message to his patients. He takes it to audiences around the country as well, speaking at hospitals, churches, and community centers.

I am rethinking my entire diet. I think I can get all of my nutrients and get them in a higher quality from plants. Some of the strongest healthiest animals are herbivores. I hope that my workouts can be maintained on a vegan diets. If you have info on that I don’t appreciate it.

Absolutely. You can check out hench herbivore on youtube for Personal training tips from a pro vegan trainer.. I know him, he's a good guy.

This is just the simple truth, if you can eat correctly their is tendency for you not to sick at all for the rest of your life.

Veggie is on of the best way to live, good life is not in the quantity but in the quality of food.

We are what we eat!

Thanks for this info sir...

You are welcome!

I went vegetarian for some months,
I can't lie, I felt better than I thought I would,
I had more energy, my skin cleared up,
I've been heavily considering going
100% plant based.

Excellent, yes - the skin is a reflection of the inner body and organ health - so clearing up the skin is a great sign in many ways.
I have never once regretted being vegan!

Plant based diet is excellent. Low calorie, nutritious, fibre rich and if done well, great tasting as well.

I have seen a lot of studies lately that show human body's protein requirement can be easily met by being vegan. And then there are all the medicinal benefits as well.

Yes, I can easily get 150% - 250% of the recommended amount of protein per day from plants. Some claim that the recommended amount for vegans is higher than for meat eaters but I am not really sure that's true - but in any case, I get plenty.

That shouldnt be true. As a human, whether i eat chickpeas or meat, i should still need the same protein, given similar body type, age and gender. Perhaps, it may be that vegans have to eat more calories to consume the required amount of protein. But i am not sure if protein requirements are accurately stated or not for the benefit of the meat industry. My statement smells of conspiracy theory but i cant deny the possibility.

You are very true. Fruits, plants and herbs have high medicinal properties. You can't imagine the power of onions over prostate cancer. Thanks for highlighting this.

i also think the protene comes from plants we know that protene comes from meat but we do not stress on that the meat comes when a animal eats grass or plants.......

very well post
thank for share

Wow....I actually learned something new today...thank you!
