There isn't much to be said about the importance of this day in history that hasn't been better said by a lot of better people in better places. Today is one of the two days that officially mark the defeat of the Nazi regime by the Allied nations.
Today is the day that officially marks the end of WW2. This is a war that never ended for a lot of people and families. Its a war that should have never taken place.
Some of you may have parents and grandparents, maybe great-grandparents, who fought. Some were on different sides. Some were civilians. Some did a damn good job surviving and made sure you're here today to read this. Remember them so they're not forgotten.
