I'm Making My First DTube Short Film!

in #video6 years ago (edited)

This is just a quick vlog/announcement video for a short film I'm working on. Yesterday I got some bad news and it seemed like the kind of day i'd usually stay in bed all day. But staying in bed never really solves much so I decided to get up and do something I actually care about. I hope you like the film, it should be posted sometime tomorrow. I've always wanted to get into more narrative filmmaking but I could never get a crew together to help me do it. I've spent way too long and wasted too many opportunities waiting for other people to help me chase my dreams. Sometimes you just have to go out and do it yourself! I hope you enjoyed this video, thanks for watching!

Thats amazing. Wating for the film to watch :)

Thanks! I hope you like it!

All the people available here please tell me one thing. Is Dtube is a good platform for serious creators

Well, personally I think it is, although I do not earn with it, but I'm aware that racing games are probably not that fascinating for many as they are to me. So, obviously some good ideas, inspiration and talent are necessary. And to have a 'face' to show to the public.
Also, votings are money earned here, but voting is only possible for 7 days in case of posted videos. When you are planning to blog, the number of days the blog can be voted for depends on the frequency of answers to the blog, usually it is 2 days (or a few more sometimes). Interestingly, videos can sometimes not be watched anymore after a few weeks, but I assume this is not fully developped yet.
The rule of thumb is: If your topics are greatly asked for and you are talented, you can earn money. If you don't give up easily and stay posting on a regular basis, it is also possible to make a good living with steemit.com and d.tube. So this mostly depends on you and what you create. The more fun you have, the more fun your viewers/readers should have.
There are lots of videos and blog postings available with descriptions and tutorials how to use the platform.
But one thing is for sure: You definitely don't loose anything registering and creating an account. Respect the three most important rules: Don't loose your password, don't loose your password and don't loose you password, it cannot be recovered!
Enjoy! Qapla'!

Thank you so much.. It will definitely help me

Thanks brother.. I am waiting for several improvements in DTube

Oh, there's more to consider:

  • Don't ever use copyrighted material (music, film, even news reports) without written consent, this can be very expensive.
  • Nothing can be deleted (but maybe hidden, kind of), every edit can be seen.
  • Videos are stored on the interplanetary file system (IPFS.io), there's no delete method available for IPFS (yet, but maybe never will).
  • After a few days, posts can not even be edited anymore.
  • After all, a blockchain is used (you know, immutible, eventually consistent, purely distributed peer-to-peer system etc.)
  • You can of course publish your own material on other platforms too.
Hope this helped you to decide.

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer nor an expert nor an advisor in this regards, so this is my own opinion and not legal advice whatsoever.

... and not even the answer is editable, but the "IPFS" belongs between the brackets (the ones them seem to be left and lost).

As you can see, we're already curious! :)

I got it like 95% done today, I hit a few snags but It should be finished tomorrow. I hope it was worth the wait!

Glad you made it outside bro. Looks like your are as ready as I am for spring time here in Minnesota. Will be ready and waiting for the new video.

Thanks! Yeah I'm ready for spring alright! It's been freezing here the last few days...

I loved that little cinematic you done of the ice melting! I liked your little video man! Don't say you don't have friends! You got lots in your end screen footage!

Thanks man! Yeah, that was a little negative... but those guys aren't around anymore. One is on a mission in Ecuador, one is working up in Canada. I meant I don't have friends to make videos with. At least not very often.

Yeah I definitely feel ya there I don't have any to make videos with

I just joined a bunch of filmmaking groups in my area on Facebook and I'm starting to find some really talented people to work with. I just haven't found a project I that I feel is worth their time yet, so I haven't asked. You might check what similar groups they have near you if you need people for a project.

ah cool man! I never thought of that thanks!

Super amazing transition from your intro to the B-roll. Loved how the black bars came in from the top and bottom and the music kicked up. Got me hyped haha :) where in the world was this filmed??

Looking forward to the short film coming out. I'm sure its going to be awesome!!

Thank you! I filmed it just around my front yard here in Utah.

The bit of time in Utah that I have spent was blessed with many scenes of beautiful landscapes. Glad to see you capturing a bit of that glory in your videos :)

Thanks man! It's definitely not hard to find beauty here, that's for sure.

Amazing video quality and camera panning! I like the music there too. Good luck in the future!

Thanks a lot Andy!

Looking forward to the film. I already liked the b-roll footage on todays video. No friends to help you film stuff? I know exactly what you're talking about^^

Yup, but I shouldn't complain. It's good practice to figure out how to do it by yourself. The film should be up tomorrow for sure this time, it's like 95% finished.
