U.S.S Enterprise Auction Starts at 1000 ETH

The auction of the first of six minted crypto assets in the game Crypto Space Commander begins.
The exclusive ships each start at 1000 ETH.

CSC is a scifi space exploration MMO in early access on Steam. Players can explore an open sandbox universe in their owned and customized spaceships, mine ore from stellar bodies, and fight pirates or other players for loot that can be sold or crafted into tradeable crypto assets. The game has a Play-to-Own economy and asset management powered by the Ethereum blockchain.

CSC had little to do with Star Trek until recently. It seems like a bold move selling assets for a game that is still in early access. It has become a popular way for developer teams to crowdfund a project this way, which I think is great for indie and small dev teams; I'm just hoping the market won't become too saturated by low-effort games and money grabs.
It almost looks like Star Trek did a quick jump on a bandwagon, joining the first blockchain game with a Trek player fan base to sell some crypto swag at very high prices.

Ships can even be destroyed completely in the lawless PVP systems known as Fringe Space. Now with Star Trek adding these high-value targets, exclusive assets to the game, we might hear of some record-breaking losses in fights coming up. Although I don't think these six exclusive ships can be destroyed, there will be other Enterprises and Voyagers flying around with 'limited insurance'.
