PETTY SENTIMENTS.

So early today, i was going through my contacts whatsApp update and i came across the above image and it struck me with an insight for this post.

I dare say that religion is a major problem in our beloved country and because of this most of us attach unnecessary sentimental value to things.
Petty sentiments has eaten deep into the fabric of our society that we hide behind the facade of family, friendship, business associate and we do not speak up when these people we claim to love do evil and practice things that is not right.

We say things like;

family comes first.

We forget the importance of truth and moral values. We are lenient with some people, and cruel to others. We show favour to some and not the others. We love some a little more than others.

Jobs are given to some and not others because oh well you are not from a certain tribe. You don't have connection, so you always finish last even though if given the chance you did be the fastest

This problem is every where, in the family, in churches, in government establishments, you name it. It has etched itself deeply into the fabric of our society.

Rooting it out starts with you.
