THE AFRICA WE LONG TO SEE

in #wafrica6 years ago (edited)

Back in History, we all learnt different stories of Africa, the great movement that happened and the life that our ancestors lived before. They saw life and left it to the next generation. All they could see was that great happiness surrounding them, passing through their memories and making their lives a future reflection.

Nonetheless, time went on, no one could see the changes but they did happen. Life challenges started happening, prosperity, love, care and in all ‘’UBUNTU’’ started depreciating but could still define this Africa. Formally called uncultured, uncivilized, unmodernized when actually prosperous. We saw that beauty in their eyes but could not figure it in the present. What went wrong? Nationalism, Patriotism, division and human zeal came around and made us, the heirs, unfriendly with the old rules.

Looking at the sky, they made this land great but still the new turned it bronze. When knowledge, skills and impressive abilities is at it point, we all couldn't tell how the olds made it perfect with the little they had. The question is, who could we give all the credits? Looking at the recent waves as climate change breaks the climax, cold war in the lead, politics as the truth, all that we can say is that we all follow the pareto optimality principal. Simply meaning, not all of us can be better off, thus for one to be better off, then an other person should be worse off.

Do you care more about your life? I ask

The various political instabilities, famine, corruption vices, poverty and all the vices make this globe a center of non-comprehensive life perspective. Still, regret goes more to the future generation as they will have to face the worse part of it all. They will have to solve or worsen, cure or empoison the society. Only the future will tell. Whenever we say hope, we mean chance, possibility, growth and gain but only few can see that. Optimism should be that priority even when the country can not do so.

Back in old days, the society had principals, laws and leaders in charge of them. Any backslide would be a disaster and a probable end for the offender. This generation could not hundle that and all we see is now a universal truth. Each person believes on his truth and careless on the rest, only to be called ‘’moral but not ethical, opportunist but not socialist, just to make all this world his enveloped gift.

But if we say it all

We can call all the names we know to people, but what matters most is the output. Africa had great names, the great Mandela, Nkwame Nkrumah, Mwalimu Nyerere, Lumumba and others, all these guys did great work. This still can happen by now and all we need is to look back and see how these great people did it. Some may say that it’s long time ago, but we never get to stop reading a book because it’s old but because we believe we can gain more knowledge from it. When we talk about names, some got contented with titles. Africa has now great leaders with titles but with no names. Which one would you prefer?

When leaders care less on education, agriculture and entrepreneurship while spending more on defense. What could be the ending result? May be all of us should join the army of which not everyone is meant to do so. This could be called as loss of target and future life perspectives. A dog simply knows its owner. A country only belongs to its people. We are all described with what we have, where we live and the vices around us. Remember, as the society looses hope, the future will not have any standing point. The question is, where do you stand? Or you lost hope too.

All that matters is us and we have nothing that could take us away from our destiny. It is better to bring it forth or not, but with all dues and respect, we all ought to draw a new picture of who we really are.

Been a while I saw your post my friend
Speaking about Politics and how the old cabals have stolen the future away from young folks is really appalling
Saddening to hear is the fact that some ignorant and violent Youths still support these old bad wagon as obtainable in Nigeria's politics

yeah...Africa should find a way to get out of the dictators that keep worsening the continent.
