Safety in kidnapers den

in #wafrica5 years ago

Is there any day I read or listen to news without hearing anything on kidnaping and/or abduction?
This is a terrible case to not just an individual but to the families and friends of the victims and even the community and readers/listerns.
When the kidnaping business just started, it was only the wealthy ones or anyone from a wealthy background that are being kidnaped, but these days, anyone can be kidnaped, no one is spared of this wicked act.
Once one is kidnapped, it’s just one and someone’s family and friends that will bear the consequences. So one need to be very careful of the time we walk, our friends, path we walk, we should always try as much as possible to take different paths on a daily basis etc.
As no one is spared of being kidnaped, here are few things you can do when kidnaped.

  1. Be positive and take a deep breath
Have at the back of your mind that you’re not the only one afraid, the kidnapers are much more afraid than you are. They know they can be caught at any time of the day, so they are always very careful. So you should take a deep breath and be positive that you’ll come out alive. This will take you a long way.

  2. Be Cooperative
Even if you are positive that you’re coming out alive doesn’t mean you should not be cooperative. If you want to truly come out alive without being battered, you must cooperate. They will make you feel your life is in their hands, and they can take it anytime and they will make you feel you’re useless to them either dead or alive, they want to put fear into you so you can do exactly what they want you to do, so they are ready to beat you up mercilessly which might result to enternal injury or life changing injury (like being blind, crippled etc) so to avoid all these, one need to be very cooperative.

  3. No eyes contact
We’ve heard or watched films where kidnaping or robbery is taking place, of the kidnappers or robber sees that one of his victims recognizes him, the victim will definitely be killed, because they want to hide their identities.
So if you’re in their den, try as much as possible NEVER to maintain eye contact, either you know the person or not, they might feel you’re trying to mark their faces, or might feel you know them somewhere (we’ve heard of different cases of mistaken identities).

  4. Be very observant
This is kind of the hardest part to carry out, you have to be very observant even will you’re faced down, this is when your ears and nose have to be extra sharp. Take note of footsteps, voices, odours etc. this will help you know when to raise your head or lower them, when to do certain task or another.

  5. Be Obedience
Hey! Lie down on that spot, you must immediately lie down and face down except you’re ordered to face up. I read of someone whose ransom was paid and was freed by kidnapers giving testimony, he said, the ring leader of the gang was coming into their hideout, then they were all ordered to lie down and face down, so that there will not be an eye contact whatsoever, everyone but one woman wasn’t able to do it because she was so uncomfortable, and she was shot and she died immediately.
Moreover, who doesn’t like being obeyed?

  6. Be attentive
Listen attentively but quietly to their conversation, you’ll get to hear their nicknames, slangs, accent etc. this can be helpful when they are being tracked down. And most importantly, listen and carry out their instructions very carefully without missing anything, because any small mistake can lead to ones death.

  7. Keep mute
Under no circumstance should you talk unless you’re asked to, watch what you say because it can be disastrous to you, and wherever you’re asked a question, always keep your answer short and simple in a very simple language. The aim is not to make them in anyway angry, if not, you’re on your own.

  8. Be healthy
Since you don’t know how soon you’ll be rescued or freed, try as much as possible to stay healthy. Have at the back of your mind that you’ll have no medical attention if anything happens to you. So don’t do anything that will make you get injured, you can only get medical attention from a quack, that’s if anyone of them is ready to help.

  9. Make them pity you, win their trust
No matter how small or irrelevant a question is, tell them the truth. This will help build little trust. Play the pity game, say things that will make them pity you, blame others for their misfortunes, most especially, blame the government for stealing the nations resources and not providing jobs, this will make them justified and then maybe start pitying you. Mind you, because they are pitying you doesn’t mean they will let you go free, it’ll only reduce them beating you or stop them from killing you.

  10. Take cover
During rescue operation, ensure you take cover, lie down flat on the floor and try to be moving towards safety on the floor. During rescue operations, there will be stray bullets here and there, so try to save your life first.

  11. Don’t be an hero/heroine
Heros are basically in movies, this is a real life situation, scripts are followed in movies, this is your life, it has no duplicate. Forget the idea of being an hero, be realistic to yourself but you’re 100% free to take an escape route but just know the consequences.

The aim of these kidnapers is to collect ransom, and they will get it if you’re dead or alive, as your friends and family will dance to their tunes just to get you out of their captives.
So it’ll be a loose/loose situation for your friends and family if you die, because they will loose you and they will loose their money also. So the ultimate aim is for you to be alive.
I pray none of us get into their hands.
Good morning and have a wonderful day.
