Rainbow beetle - Liquid watercolor

For this piece I used ecoline liquid watercolors on fabriano watercolor paper, it was my second time using them.

I started applying water to the background, avoiding the beetle and the leaf it is standing on. Then started adding the color in, since it was wet on wet technique, the colors started spreading on the paper. I used this technique because the background was blured.

When the background was dry, I painted the leaf in the middle and the beetle, these two are well defined, have a lot of detail and are above the background, that's why I painted them last and not first.

En esta pieza usé anilinas ecoline, o acuarelas líquidas, sobre papel de acuarela fabriano, fue la segunda vez que usé las anilinas.

Empecé cubriendo el fondo con agua, evitando el escarabajo y la hoja en la que está. Luego comencé a agregar color, como era la técnica húmedo sobre húmedo, los colores se esparcieron sobre el papel. Usé esta técnica porque el fondo estaba desenfocado.

Cuando se secó el fondo, pinté la hoja y el escarabajo, estos dos están bien definidos, tienen muchos detalles y están encima del fondo, por eso los pinté al final y no al principio.
