For those gamers who know their D&D (5th edition), there is actually a category of "improvised weapons". For those improvised weapons that don't resemble existing weapons like clubs and knives, the rules say they do 1D4 damage. When you think about it, that's the same damage as a dagger or a club. So in the hands of a character with the Tavern Brawler feat, that character is just as combat effective swinging a couple of large fish as they'd be with daggers!
Whether it's gaming or taxes, taking time to know the rules is the difference between being a slave to the rules or making the rules your slave. 😉
