Wednesday Walk
@tattoodjay challenges us to go out for a short #wednesdaywalk and discover what we can see!
It's cold here this morning, so I'm remembering a walk from a few years ago down the Main Street of Natchez, Missippi.
We were there at this time of year and were enjoying temperatures that felt balmy to us, only to discover that the people in town were horrified by how cold it was! We went out for dinner one night, and found that there were signs on the doors of the restaurants saying they were closed. Come to find out temperatures were supposed to drop below freezing, and they sent all their employees home so that no one would have to be out in the cold weather!
We eventually found a place that was opporating with a reduced staff, which worked out, because we were the only people dining out!
We stayed for a week and had a great time exploring the town and the surrounding area.
It is 56°/ 13C in Natchez right now. . It's 19°/ - 7C here in Wisconsin.

Funny how depending where your from your perception of cold can be so varied, where I grew up a cold day was if overnight the temperature dropped to freezing point is 32F but of course here i have got used to a lot colder than that

I was surprised that they would close the town because the night time temperatures we're dropping down to freezing, we really did have to kind of laugh about that. The good part was that not many people were out and about while we were there. Everyone seemed to stay home! It let us have everything in town pretty much to ourselves. The stores and museums were all pretty empty.
yeah that was surprising but was a bonus ot make it nice and quiet while you were there :)

I agree with @tattoodjay - it's so funny how one person's freezing is another person's tee-shirt weather. Great captures, @melinda010100 and I hope you get above-freezing weather again soon!

It's funny how quickly we lose tolerance to cold. It has been an unusually mild winter here, but tonight is the first night of cold. I was walking the dog in 50 degrees and muttering to myself how I needed a scarf and another layer under my coat :)

It's getting down to freezing temps, but at dusk it was 50. Still not bad :)
Ooooh 7 degrees in Wisconson!!!!! That's what I call very energizing weather. I love the photos you have shared in this blog @melinda010100 Nachez looks like a very interesting place to visit and that view out the window of the Cathedral is great.
I don't get to see daffodils much here in Brisbane (only in shops) so I really admired the ones at the base of that large tree. They made a pretty contrast against the bright pink wall of the building behind it. U & R )
Thanks for your generous vote and the resteem! It's -11C out there tonight, but it is supposed to warm up a bit, and snow! We had a wonderful week in Natchez and then drove further south along the Mississippi River and spent some time in New Orleans. It was a really good trip.
