Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend!

On Friday Night, my wife and I got a date night in, while grandma put the kids to bed and hung out while they slept. We got pizza from a new joint (featured a cornmeal crust which was very tasty!) and then went to a local street fair and got ice cream and walked around. Fun times!

Last night my son and I had a “boy’s night out” and went to a local racetrack for what they call “Night of Destruction”!

This is a wild event with a number of different things happening - there was a car club and some race car drivers next to their racers handing out candy before the event began in a trunk-or-treat, there was a couple of normal truck races, some king-of-the wing cars raced, and then the destruction part of the night began. First there were enduro races, then figure 8 racing, then skid-plate racing and then demolition trailer derby (where vehicles with trailers such as boat and RVs race and try to destroy each other’s trailers) - the track was left in a total disaster! They closed out the night with fireworks!

Jacob had a great time and we didn’t get home until after 11pm... his normal bedtime is 8:30pm so he did great being able to stay up that long! He talked about it all day long! Here are some pictures:

Today, we went to a pumpkin patch with some other family members and then went out for burgers after. It was a fun time, and Jacob and Kendra enjoyed playing with their cousins!

As always, the weekends go much too fast, but at least this one had so much fun in it that I should be energized for the upcoming workweek!
