Can You Eat Keto With Hypertension? (High Blood Pressure)

in #weightloss5 years ago
A big question asked among the ketogenic diet community is if you should go keto if you have high blood pressure.  Let’s answer the question once and for all today:

Now, if you have hypertension likely you have increased triglycerides, increased blood sugar, increased insulin levels, and increased inflammation. All of these happen to be risk factors for stroke, heart attack, and kidney failure.

Non of these things can be "cured" with pharmaceuticals. The symptoms can be masked by taking a pill that will artificially cure you. If you stop taking that pill the symptoms return and the condition returns. You have to dig deep and get to the root cause and this cannot be done with medication. The ketogenic diet lowers your insulin levels, it lowers your inflammation levels, and you will burn fat as your fuel source.

On the ketogenic diet you will lose weight and you will lose stubborn belly fat. With a reduction in weight and belly fat you will naturally lower your blood pressure. When your BP goes down you reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and metabolic syndrome. To further reduce your risk you can optimize your potassium and magnesium levels as well as keep stress in check.

Answer: Yes, you can go keto with high blood pressure.
