As well as being Charlie you get your own point of view across.
I'm wondering if perhaps the infamous Alicia didn't somehow fancy young Charlie and was trying to get his attention by her light punch on his arm.............just a passing thought to confuse the issue even further! :)

Alicia fancied young Charlie? That's possible. However, I am afraid, Charlie was at the age when this thought couldn't have crossed his mind yet. I wish it would, he'd have an easier time constructing the first sentence. )))
