Why we depend on Whatsapp and other platforms
Recently i noticed a viral post via whatsapp about free recharge cards and data, the post comes with a shorturl. The post put up a question in my mind about what benefit it is to the people sharing the information. What profit is it giving to the owners of the platform...in no time i a thought about how secured my device is whenever i visit such sites. so i decided to visit the site from a controlled environment on my laptop, without bothering to scan the site for malware or trying to look under hood if the code on the site is malicious or not, the layout and design on the site is of a typical spamming website, the url is not convincing, the data the site is collecting and the process they claim for the redemption is very scam laced.
This lead me to start thinking abou the social media communication platform this guys are using to spread the message...WHATSAPP...

With the definition above it seems as though it is not possible to hack such communication system but don't be sad that there are tools that the communication is secured in the process of transmission and storage, the communicating application is designed to decypher the transmitted data but sometimes back i remembered trying to run some tests on how secured the encrypted data, yes truly they are secured but it is not fool proof, one of the method of breaking through i=with such is deploying screen readers, another technology that is capable of reading whatever is diplayed on your screen, another method is the use of tools like Rootkits
