The new WhatsApp emojis that will arrive in March to your cell phone

in #whatsapp5 years ago

Express through WhatsApp that you are drinking mate will be much easier from next March 5.

That is the official date on which one of the 230 new emojis -59 originals and 171 variations- that has just been approved by the Unicode Consortium, the body in charge of selecting this type of characters for everyone, comes into force.

The emoji del mate was conceived by a group of Argentine journalists and illustrators in 2017 during an event called Media Party and promoted by a campaign on social networks.

The new emoji list also includes a large number of drawings to better represent people with different types of disabilities.

A guide dog, people with physical disabilities, an ear with a hearing aid and prosthetic limbs are some of the new symbols.

Apple said in March 2018 that very few of the emojis that have been used so far "speak of the life experiences of those with disabilities."

"Adding emblematic emojis to the life experiences of users helps foster a diverse culture inclusive of disability," the company said.

There will also be new emojis representing couples of various races and sexes.
