Turkey, Mevlana, Whirling Dervishes ENG/ TR

Seeing the whirling ceremony in Konya was very exciting and beautiful. I was very surprised to find out >whirling ceremonies date back to 13th century and the origin of whirling is from Mevlana ( a muslim poet, jurist, islamic scholar) Whirling is a customary dance and worship ceremony. The whirling dervishes aim to reach the source of all PERFECTION by focusing only on GOD in the music. Therefore they abandon their personal desires. The dervishes spin their bodies in repetitive circles in the music (with a traditional instrument called NEY), which means the symbolic imitation of planets in the solar system. And they never get dizzy. That is very interesting. Here are seven inspring advices from Mevlana (father of whirling ceremony)

Konya'daki dervişlerin sema gösterilerini izlemek cok heyecan verici aynı zamanda güzeldi.
