Mobile and Email: Habits of Winners

in #winner6 years ago

This is my note about the use of HP and Email. Today in business we have been helped a lot by these two modern means of communication. But throughout my career as a professional and a businessman, I observed that not everyone has used these communication aids well. Even sometimes the business or career is interrupted because unconsciously have used the means of communication that they have incorrectly. On the other hand I also observed that "Winners", who are very successful in their business and career, generally have some habits that we might be worthy of example. Here are some of them:

  1. Winners rarely change phone numbers.
The logic is reasonable, because seldom change cellphone numbers, the winners are easily contacted when there are parties who need their products or services. People who are less successful in their business and career (not to call them "losers") I observe having the opposite habit, that is often changing cellphone numbers, and worse, often not telling colleagues / clients. Remarkably, if I ask why often changing cellphone numbers, they always have a reason, whether the cellphone is lost, the SIM card is damaged, etc. Strangely, always only those who have these problems.

  2. Winners always receive a call if their cellphone is contacted.
Yes, the winners whenever I try to contact always receive a call with a "greeting" that is fresh and vibrant like the atmosphere in the morning. No matter how many hours you are contacted. Saying "Hello Good Morning!" Or "Hello Good Night!" For them is just as passionate. Except of course when they are in a meeting. And even then the callback is usually immediately finished meeting. Conversely, those who are less successful often do not pick up incoming calls, or worse turn off the cellphone. There was my friend who was unsuccessful, honestly admitted that if the number was unknown he was afraid it was a debt collector. Wow, then how can he distinguish between debt collectors and prospects who will give orders?

  3. Winners use SMS wisely.
The winners I know are generally polite in texting. Using polite word choices often ends with thanks or thanks. And never use uppercase letters carelessly. In the use of uppercase letters usually used if we want to "shout" (flamming). This habit continued in the SMS era. Winners also do not use SMS for matters that are urgent and critical. Because not every time we can reply to SMS immediately. If it is urgent the Winners usually just call. Of course, the Winners like this do not include the "mis-kin-call" people.

  4. Winners use email addresses with their own names.
Please observe, generally the Winners use the email address as their own name, not strange. They are confident enough to include their name. It may be abbreviated so that it does not extend, but always their own names are listed. While those who are less successful sometimes the e-mail address is weird. For example using nicknames that are hard to remember (gendutz, peyanx, hackers, etc ...) Or using celebrity names (most often: Beckham, Baldwin, etc ...) Whereas in business we need to know who we interact with. After all, you know, it's not like Beckham anyway, why not just use the name of your own parents? I'm sure Bill Gates or Larry Pages also doesn't bother making coolprogrammer @ email addresses .... for example. I once received an email from a colleague whose email address is "gondoruwo @ ...", can you imagine how scary it is to reply to his e-mail.

  5. The winners are polite in email.
Generally the email I received from the Winners used the greeting and closing greetings. The choices are polite, and don't use capitalization. And under greeting, confidently include the full name and contact that can be contacted. Those who are less successful, often e-mail without greetings, sometimes use words that are not polite, and carelessly use uppercase letters (so the recipients seem to believe), and do not believe in their own names below. I was shocked to receive an email typed in all capslock, so I used the "slang" language again. Oops, until you get dizzy read it. Even though it turned out that the contents were nothing important.

  6. Winners always respond to emails.
The winners I know always respond to every incoming email. These are CEOs or owners of world-class software companies. But despite the hundreds of incoming emails every day, they always show that they "care" with the email they receive. Even though sometimes the response is only to forward to the staff with a short message "Pls follow up", or reply only: "Got it. Will revert to you later". But at least they show attention. On the contrary, those who are less successful often do not reply the email they receive. Even though they are definitely more time.

  7. Winners wisely use email.
When I was an employee, every Friday, my mailbox was full of friends who sent jokes, intermezzo, even hot pictures. Sometimes attachments are so large that they interfere with bandwidth. Not if you reply to each other. Wow, the mailbox is full of unimportant things. The winners I know have never done things like that. They use email according to its purpose, which is to communicate.

Are you also a Winner? Can you add the list again?
