Starting The Next Chapter

It's all too familiar to hear that "this is my last post." I am Shutting down this account and as witness. After long consideration and excitement to revive @voteinterestpool, I have come to realize everything how the project functioned was wrong, all the way down to the username. Vote, Interest, Pool, all words we should not have associated to value a content on this platform. Essentially, VIP project is a form of "vote buying" and to ask the community to vote on these posts with the idea of receiving rewards for it. The rewarding value is the content that is produced and the benefit of having that content on the platform. I don't see the project to have sustainability or scalability with this type of system.

I originally wanted to distribute the digital currency to help with adoption of usage but there is a bigger picture to have than just giving out rewards. We have been so focused on ideas on how to create content to earn rewards but the idea of the rewards itself has changed the individual and social behavior dynamics of what is "social media." I fell into this and made a change to my approach.

The Best Feature Added Was The View Counter

I am really encouraging a removal of the display of reward value of the post as a start to guide the platform to create content and services that benefit the community and look past the possible monetary gains. Maybe place the reward value in an expandable content along with the downvote flag.

This is difficult to see past since this is part of what makes Steemit, Steemit. I am not saying to remove the rewards system but simply change how the frontend displays the reward value. When we view posts on other social media sites, we do not see the negative information such as the number of dislikes or the number of times someone has "reported" you. People tend to care of only the positive and want to see the number of likes or views to rate the quality of the content.

I Will Continue To Witness

I will be running for witness on my original account @bitcoinparadise and will be powering down @voteinterestpool to help with my the cost to maintain being a witness(small 300 Steem about $50 worth).

I have transferred the last of whatever liquids this account held(a couple dollars) and made a donation to @theprophet0 in light of his situation but the issue will be resolved.

It has been a great project run and now the information is gathered and time to move on to a new project. I appreciate the support so many have shown and if you would like continue to show support, you can vote for @bitcoinparadise as witness. I will be keeping the track-record with this account and remind supporters of the blocks missed and witnessed.

I will continue to up to date with the price feed accordingly and will work on something to bring of great value to the community.
