CHOOSING A CAREER
Today, there are so many careers or occupation we could venture into, but the real question shouldn't be about venturing into a career, it should be, Why do I want this career for my self?
There is a huge gap between a Job and a Career, but most people tend to mix up a job with their career. A job is just an engagement you earn a living from, while career is what you engage in, not just because you want to earn from it, but because you enjoy doing it, and its lifelong.
I have grown to understand that over 60% of employees don't get satisfaction and joy from their respective jobs. This is because workers don't take up jobs inline with their careers, they just take up jobs for the pay involved, and in due time, they get stuffed, and start complaining and regretting about their choices.
Moving on to the main event of the day, Choosing a career...
In my own opinion career choices is the most important life choice, seconded by life partner choice. When considering a career, there are certain things to be considered first, as failure to do so can ruin a life forever.
When choosing a career, the first thing to consider is your happiness. Nothing in this world is more important than our happiness. the second consideration to put in place is time. Time is very relevant and time is a factor to be considered. The third is the capability towards the career. Can you do it? Do you have the physical strength? The psychological balance? These three conditions are to be considered, before considering the pay.
The reason for a slack in employment rate is because individuals have placed money ahead of everything. They have built their jobs but have failed to build a lasting career Let us all build a career for ourselves, a career not out of greed, but out of happiness, and self actualization
