RE: ADSactly World: Exploring Venezuela’s collapse and the measures that caused it

in #world5 years ago

After your excellent article-denounces, @dedicatedguy, and what other people have contributed, it's a little difficult to add something new.
I will only refer to something that came out of the opinion of one of the participants in the debate: why do people continue to support the current regime in Venezuela, after having almost completely destroyed the country? If we look at it from the inside, there is a large part - I would say the majority - that simply acts out of the need for survival that the regime has created to manipulate, debasing many in their own ignorance and misery. But there is another part, and I want to emphasize this one, that acts (or opines) in favor of what could be called "ideological blackmail"; they are those who got hooked years ago on the ideology of a supposed egalitarian and just society that would represent socialism, a thesis that past and recent history has been in charge of demonstrating as a terrible fallacy, but that many insist on not wanting to see or accept. This is the case with many foreigners who, unaware of the crude reality of our country (I continue to live in Venezuela), dare, naively or shamelessly, from the comfort of their country, to advocate for this regime. And here have appeared some.
Thanks again for your post, @dedicateguy. Greetings.
