The theatre building was constructed 175 years ago.

The construction of Lviv Zankovetska Ukrainian Drama Theatre lasted from 1836 to 1842.
When the building was completed, it was considered the largest structure in the city. When the theatre was opened in, it seated 1,460.

The ballrooms where the Galician audience could take part in carnival festivities and ballroom dancing. Guests, who wanted to prolong their stay in Lviv, could take advantage of many other facilities offered by the theatre: shops, a bakery, a confectionery, special rooms for the ill, and even a comfortable private hotel, where, in addition to enjoying their luxurious rooms, visitors could relax in a dining room and games rooms. The building consisted of 550 rooms of various sizes, which could accommodate several families.
