"The Shadow of Death"

In the story of Peter Pan, the boy Peter never grew old,
He was a

"Boy forever"

He also did not have a shadow.

I had a brief bit of Inspiration this morning, and wrote it down.
Oddly, this bit about Peter Pan only just now occurred to me.

We were talking about aging.
One of my friends said he had Characterized aging as

"mortality's shadow growing ever larger on the existential wall."

I countered that perhaps age was like:

"A Shadow that is long when we are born,Growing shorter each day."

When we Reach the apex of our physical Existence,
So that when we
Stand at the noon of our Lives,
We have no shadow.
Life and death meet at that point, and
We pass from this world into
Whatever comes next.
