A glimpse of a high school teacher

7:15.
I thought that I was late, but it seemed that I was very early.
Parked the car, unloaded then parked else where. Went upstairs.
Opened my own office, turned the air conditioner on, locked it again.
Went downstairs.
Walked to the room with the others, said hi.
Put my bag in the middle table, walked to the head office, grabbed my cup, walked to the admin poured some luke warm water, then walked back to the room.
Sat down, had some breakfast.
Grabbed my phone, got 10 down votes and still counting. Posted something on Instagram.
Had a chat with a colleague, telling about how much she missed Saturday after seeing the pictures.

Almost 7:45
Had to do some surveillance down the hall. Oef! the smell of the loo down the hall. Saw my students on their way to the loo, had a brief chat.
Sat down, picked my phone, wondering how this works. Scrolled through Facebook, cleaned my timeline.

8:30, school bell rings.
Took my bag from the room, went up in my office.
Saw the others waiting by the door down the hall. Unlocked the door, walked in the room, turned on the lights. Turned on the main computer, logged in to classroom. Walked by each of them, explained and answered any of their questions.

9:15, recess.
Had to do the accounting, did. Others coming in, asking for help, assisted them.

9:45
Finished accounting. Went to the other admin. Sigh. Not everyone has signed up for the test. Did a round out to find them. Ran up the stairs again, put the sign up sheet on the table, ran down the stairs again. Made sure all payments were settled. All the runs was exhausting. Sat down in the room, had a chat with a colleague, changed some ideas, planned some events.

11:15, short recess.
Got upstairs again. Students coming in and out.

11:30
Logged into the main computer. Marked a few papers. Others came in, logged into their account. Gave them some remarks. Marked a few papers again. Students coming in and out for assistance. Composed a test and an assignment.

13:00, schools out.
Finished assignment composition.

13:47
Took a sip of water. Cleared the desked. Turned off the air conditioning. Turned off the lights. Locked the room. Walked down the stairs to the car. Started the car, left the building.
