Article - The escape from Alcatraz! What is this prison, and what has happened?
In 1963, three persons tried to escape from the known prison Alcatraz outside San Francisco. The prison was closed after this escape, and the police and the authority have never found the persons that escaped!
Robert Kennedy announced in 1963 that the authorities in US had decided to close Alcatraz. The prison was opened in 1934, and was open in 29 years. Many dangerous persons having done illegal and wrong actions, were placed here. And Alcatraz was an awfully place to come! Alcatraz is placed in an island outside the bay of San Francisco.
Three persons being placed in Alcatraz, tried to escape from Alcatraz in 1963. Everybody prisoner knew about this escape, but nobody of the employees was never informed! There have been as many as 36 trials to escape from Alcatraz in its history, but nobody had ever succeeded rather than these three persons. They made a boat of rainwear to come from Alcatraz across the bay to the mainland. They have never found these three persons, and there can be several explanations about what happened:
(1) The three persons survived, and they were rescued by a boat or by a coast guard!
(2) The three persons did not survive, and they were eaten by big fishes or they did not manage to treat the bay and the streams in the ocean!
Today, we can find these persons in living live in US or in other countries. But it is difficult to detect them, since nobody of them will tell anything officially or to the press. Hence, they can be in places which are not known today. There are too many places on the earth to find all people every place at every time! Many people mean that these three persons live today, and they just used three private objects to camouflage what had happened! But there is also the explanation that they drowned or they were eaten by fishes, large fishes that are dangerous for humans!
Probably, we will never find these persons, and maybe they have changed identity, so it is difficult to find them!
The Spanish researcher Juan Manuel de Ayala sailed throw the bay around San Francisco in 1775, and he gave the islands names. Alcatraz got its name after pelicans, and there have been many pelicans on the island through many years. Any name is made through a history of time, or there is a distinct philosophy for using the name. That is true for most places in the world, but there can be exceptions, and some names are arbitrarily formed! You just choose something of all the choices that are available!
The problem with detecting the prisoners trying to escape from Alcatraz was that there was a locally surveillance system on the island, but there is no intenational surveillance systems around the world, and accordingly, the individual freedom determines the destiny to people going around at earth! You cannot detect every movement in every human body, and therefore all people must respect that power does not matter in the lives to people independently of where they come from!
There are some known prisoners in Alcatraz through its history, and the most known were Al Capone (1934-1939), Robert Stroud (1942-1959), George «Machine Gun» Kelly (1934-1951) and Alvin «Creepy» Karpis (1936-1962).
There are many talks and many imaginations about the prison Alcatraz. And one can find literature on it, and also films. But it was a terrible place to come, and only the worst prisoners were placed there for some determined time, or they died there!
Today, there is sightseeing to Alcatraz, and you can buy a ticket to take a trip there. And there is also one or more guides that are used to tell you about how the history to the prison actually was! Hence, it is popular among the tourists to travel to Alcatraz!
