They went through their usual round of midday when an intense smell of dying made them descend the steep slope, the thick bushes, to see what it was about. When they arrived, they found a large and fat corpse, whose face was purple from suffocation, a few wounds that no longer bled and an expression of dread that would frighten the most painted. Without saying a word, with the simple sign of a common look, they decided to climb the road, "comb the area" and look for reinforcements in the vicinity.

It was something big that would justify the fatigue of an unsuccessful morning, of traveling the city and the neighborhoods from one end to the other without finding any case that was worthwhile, until now, that, suddenly, a great event appeared before his eyes, that would give him an office and enough to talk about to many of his colleagues. A few minutes later they appeared and managed to contact seven of their colleagues, who, at a secret signal, went around the crime area, carefully reviewing every indication that was a cause for alarm in the field, as it was something serious and possibly there would be an ambush.

The less cautious of the group and at the same time the most experienced, descended to the place of the corpse, while his companions watched him posted on high. The sun was a fiery sphere that burned their black suits all day only for that moment when the leader started jumping around the dead man, he fell on him and pecked hard at his eyes and face, which unleashed the joy of the flock of vultures who long ago sought their breakfast.
