West meets East - word of the day: "AMEN"

in #writing6 years ago

AMEN

a word common used at the end of our prayers wether you are a christian, muslim ("amin") or even buddhist..

...that's right...in fact I believe the word originated from that part of the world but it sounds a little different...

"OM" or "AM"

you might have used it once or twice in your yoga class or at least heard it humming..."humming" !..another word similar to the subject at take in fact that is what the monks at the temple do everyday ... hum !

(AM)en, OM, HUM, ...

Already 3 words...let's see how many similar words will there be at the end of this post...

Let's take it from the far east...
Like I said, monks hum all day for meditation and use those 2 letters to connect with the higher being, energy...whatever you like to call it...
They practice all day knowing that very few if no one at all will succeed in connecting but they try...they believe...they are indoctrinated to do so just like our western civilization, we pray because we believe, because we are taught so...

OM is the magic combination of letters that opens up God's frequency

When hummed for a long time and especially with a group of people all you will hear is

...MMMMMMMMMMMMMM...

This buzzing constant sound creates an isolation from the outside world, kinda like when you are using your headphone and listening to your favorite music at high volume...

This vibration, like in Bob Marley's "positive vibrations", actually breaks bad thoughts, well, it breaks any kind of thoughts for that matter and on a molecular scale it vibrates cells kinda like in a massage moving any stagnant organism that might have been there in the body from clogged arteries to cancer cells...in a process called shake off and eventually shattering them to death killing any non natural organism in the body thus maintaining the holiness and soundness of the body itself

I mean...when was the last time you heard about a monk having cancer or a heart attack...

In fact the eastern world call them the "western diseases" but that's another topic

Now you can understand how this ritual became a religion quickly...
Whether by chance or deliberately, we will never know how the ancients discovered this method for the first time but we know that they did somehow and now it is a worldwide ritual practiced by billions of people of all kinds of religions

Now let's move to the nearest east...

AM(IN) - آمين

Which is what Christians and Muslims use in the Arab world at the end of a prayer
with the only difference that it has an actual meaning in Arabic, in fact "amin" literally means "secured" or "trusted" and if pronounced slightly different it can mean "believed" or "believed in"

So what the Arabs did was to add to "OM" or "AM" 2 more letters "IN"
...funny how "in" is exactly what it means in English and that's because it is correlated with the Arabic word "INNA" or "INN" which will be the subject of another West meets East post... Also I will test the mighty "THE" in the English language with the Arabic ذا (ZA) and even "THAT" to ذات (Zat) or ذاك (Za'k)

So, in a way, we could say that the "far east" hold the original "key" to a prayer and the "near east" added a meaning to it so the people of that region would understand what they are humming about which is also fascinating when you know that the first sentence when you open the Quran sounds something like this:

"We have descended this Quran upon you in the Arabic language so that you might undrestand"

Pretty awesome if you ask me...something that you might not know about Mohammed the prophet is that he used to go to Jerusalem frequently due to the nature of his work as a merchant and while he was there he used to stay and learn in the house of God all the teachings about Moses and Jesus that were given in Aramaic and Hebrew mainly...

So I suspect that Mohammed had to translate those scripts into Arabic so his people in Mecca "would understand"...

This could be a very intense argument to hold with a Muslim but it sure does make a lot of sense to me as opposed to going into a mountain and coming down reciting the word of God by inspiration...which could be...but I'd rather believe that he translated the scripts...I mean... at least partially...because he did learn something or two in Jerusalem but also there are some amazing literature in the Quran that aren't in any book which could be because Mohammed was really inspired or because of the richness of the Arabic language and frankly, again, I gotta give it to the language...

Also the Quran was not written to make a new religion but rather to define the best human behaviors in everyday life, more like a consulting manual for living well than a whole new doctrine of faith
In fact Mohammed made it clear not to portrait his image because of risks of worship and that he was a normal person that will be judged like everybody else in the end

Practically the Quran is identical to the Bible, apart the added good manners the only major difference is the fact that Muslim interpret the Holy Trinity wrongly, in my opinion...
They think that Christian have 3 gods while they believe that God is 1, indivisible...

...and that would be a topic for another day

Getting back to the "Amin" topic...kinda funny when think about "Amin Ra" the Egyptian god

I believe that Jesus came from modern day Iran thus the pursue of the 3 Magis and the correlation of the northern star with the ancient Persian religion of Zoroastrianism

If Jesus didn't come from there then He sure got his teaching from there...

In conclusion...
from the far east to the nearest one and finally to the Western world I finish this post by reciting the word itself, just like in the beginning so shall it be in the end...

AMEN
