Getting ready for a journey, a short story of fiction.

Putting on her boots, she looked into the frozen walls of her castle. She did not want to leave. Here was home. Here were her people. But if she did not go, she feared that she would never forgive herself. After all, her Earth mother was on the other planet and she still loved the woman, even if she had not birthed her.

Her boots took far too long to put on. Her mind battled her hands that did not want to leave home. The place she had just returned to. The kingdom she hadn't seen for decades. But getting it over with was the important part. Doing what was right. In her heart. She would never forgive herself if she did not go and save at least a fraction of humans from their own destruction.

If she would not go, it would keep her on this planet a tad longer. In her lifetimes it was just a grain of sand in an endless desert but she wanted so desperately to help humans cross over to the next dimension. She longed fiercely to go back home herself. Earth had been her home for millenniums. Mars had been where her heart was all the while. But her being longed to go home. The real home. Where they all had come from.

Her boots were now on her feet. She laced them up and looked at the door. What did she long for? For the first time, a realization struck her. What if they did not find Eden to be their rightful place? After all, they had never been there with their spirits. They had seen it just through her eyes. It was her home, not theirs. And even though they had been made from her and her father's angels, their Eden might be somewhere else. In some other place altogether.

What if Earth was their end-game? Maybe that was why souls got stuck on the planet? What if she was trying to get them someplace they did not intend to go? What if she was the only one longing for home?

No

Humans were the proof of that. They were always in search of something. They did not even know what it was. Because they had not seen it. Their home was were their souls were. And their souls were hers. Their sous fought for Eden without realizing it. They were lost and confused and that was what they struggled to learn on Earth. As long as you stick together and support each other, respect the world you temporary occupy, you are going to find the way. There will be darkness showing you the light. If you learn and grow. And that part was taking the longest.

Her steps carried her through ice halls in the underground parts of the palace. A small slope brought her into the sun of the Space Embassy. The spacious place was now much quieter than when she had arrived in it, a little bit less than an Earth week ago. The bigger part of the existing nations had left for home. But her teams were there. Dressed in silver uniforms. Boarding the Martian silver ships. It would be an operation that had been forgotten for years and years. It would be a doom before rebirth if realized.

She felt a pair of eyes on her. She knew immediately who it was and her heart ached, just a little more than usual.

''Time is just a number for us. I will see you soon enough Anubis.'' she had not turned back yet, she could not. She needed to try and convince herself.

''I know. I came for you. I know it is hard to do what leaders have to. But I am always just a couple of days away. I will wait'' his steps were right behind her now and she turned to meet his dark eyes.

''All my human life I searched for love and it felt like forever. But the second I get my memories back and see you, it seems like only a day has passed. It is the concept of not knowing that is the worst.'' she smiled at him, a sad smile, and he took her palms in his. His officers had followed him, in a triangular notion.

''One day you will show us that home that we are searching for. One day we will return there and never leave. The fight to get there has to be just so the journey is earned and worth of every second.''

It was more than just him getting her. It was like he was part of her. He thought like she did and she found a welcome simplicity in how the world revolved around him. And then there was the spark. The fire that built deep inside her soul. How he fed her being with his.

If Earth was her child, then he was her home here, in this dimension. A home to always return to. She smiled again, caressing his cheek. She struggled to turn around. His hand held hers until she was too far to reach. He knew he would be the harbor she would return to so he let her go once more.

She boarded the passenger space shuttle and buckled in. The captain of the small ship gave the commands. Her teams of hundreds descended off, from the ground. To go back to Earth, observe and hope for the best. However, she was prepared for the worst. If Earthians would destroy their land, she would have ships ready to evacuate her people and a minority of Earthlings. Those closest by. Those lucky or doomed enough.

Some art concerning Mars added. The last picture is of nuked Earth(of our own doing) and a Mars colony ship carrying a thousand citizens of Earth. Here is the story that I wrote about the following events (it is a little different in facts as I have adapted the story since then). I called it ''The winter of weapons and the road to Mars'' back then but now I would just leave the first part of the name in.

Thank you for the read!
Have a great day, today, tomorrow, and forever!

There's a massive dust storm on Mars to cover their tracks after a recent discovery of life. LOL

Is there? My story theory is that there is a dust storm between Earth and Mars and so Mars seems red from our side. And, you can only land on the green side of Mars if you go around the storm :D

This story needs to be continued

It is kind of continued in the link after :)
