The other vampire took advantage of her distraction and leaped on her back.

She threw herself over and landed with him underneath her. Then she allowed her dragon mass to reassert itself.

The laws of physics punished the vampire in many new and unusual ways as he was rapidly crushed beneath the actual and massive weight of her.

They crashed through the floor into the room below and Celtica rearranged her weight again and stood up. The vampire was crushed. He wasn’t flat but his body was smashed.

It would be a kindness to stake his heart. He couldn’t move until his body repaired itself but it seemed to be taking a while. She checked to make sure he hadn’t died and was still sentient, he wasn’t dead (proper dead, not just undead) but he wasn’t repairing. How very odd.

She wondered if he’d be prepared to answer some questions but his arm, the one holding the hybrid-killer knife flipped it at her in a valiant effort to keep on killing her.

“Ah, you’re not worth it, you’re too stubborn,” she said. She took his hybrid-knife from his hand and used it to slice through his shattered neck and remove his head.

She clambered back up to the apartment to find the warlock standing in his living room astonished at the carnage and destruction.

“There were five of them,” he stammered at her.

“I know, you’d think they’d have sent more to protect someone so important, wouldn’t you?”

“But, but, but… you’re just a girl.”

“Yes, yes, yes… I know. They don’t make vampires how they used to, do they? Do you think it’s something in the water?”

“Vampires don’t drink water.”

“I know, I was joking. Seriously though, do you think it’s something that you warlocks are doing that’s making them weaker? It could be, you know, they die really easily and I was always led to believe that they were like… you know, superhuman things.” She was playing him along to see if he was under a glamour.

He didn’t seem to be but he did seem extremely bemused by it all.

Then he started to gather his wits. She saw it as it happened. He focussed on her better than he had and he began muttering something under his breath.

“What are you? You’re no preterdeviant that I’ve ever met and I really don’t believe that you’re a mongrel, not even a first-cross hybrid like someone suggested. You’re not the product of all preterdeviants in your ancestry’s strengths and none of their weaknesses are you?”

“Is that even possible? I wouldn’t have thought you could do that, not even with careful breeding and selection. I mean, how would you cross a giant and a dwarf? Their strengths are mainly in their size, so if you crossed one really small dwarf with a really large giant, you’d get a really normal dwiant or garf,” she shook her head. “Weird.”

“No, you’re nothing like that. You’re, different some other way. What and how have we missed you?”

Celtica heard his words and she began to get worried. He was looking at her differently and she didn’t like it. He studied her and he studied her with an expert, scientific eye. Time to stop the research, she thought.

“I can see something,” the warlock said, his fingers reached out to her and she stood still and allowed him to touch her. But as his fingers got closer, he seemed to be actually touching something even though he wasn’t close to her. “Scales?” he muttered and she knew what he had done.

“Yeah, you’ve gone far enough now, Mr. warlock. So sorry and all that, but you can’t be allowed to discover my secret, not when I don’t have the answers to yours.”

“You! You’re not a girl at all, you’re a…” but he never finished what he was about to reveal because she had engulfed him with a jet of purest blue flame. There was nothing left of the warlock, his apartment or the vampire bodyguards by the time Celtica fled down the fire escape, making certain that everyone escaped the gas explosion on the top floor.

If the vampires didn’t get worried now that one of their top warlocks had been taken out, then they were either supremely over confident or just plain stupid. Celtica thought they’d be worried.

I like Celtica! She has some moxy!

your stories are really wonderful as always.

Thank you. I appreciate your comment.

“Vampires don’t drink water.” hh

The vampire is a fictional character only

Dragons aren't exactly real either...

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

Yes good removes the dirt from the abdomen
I wish you a happy day

Hey! Another amazing post! I just posted a story myself. I’d love your opinion of my first chapter! Hope you like it!

You need to edit your work a little...

Gather all the cities little geniuses

Should be:

Gather all the city's little geniuses

Because you mean the geniuses (plural) belonging to the city (therefore, possessive apostrophe)

Also, I can't help but notice your Rep of 5 - if you spam your blog all over the place, you'll get flagged which will drop your rep.

I can only assume you're a little impatient to move up on Steemit but you can't, you have to build slowly. Build a solid following and follow your peers. That way, you'll all grow together and soon, your little group will be more substantial and will start getting people spam your walls.

Nice nice

vampire girl allways looking so beautifull and you write so well so slute for your hardwork

nicely written novel "Diamonds and Deviants" part 26 awsome story . thanks dear @michelle.gent for sharing interesting stuff.

Thank you. I'm so glad you're enjoying my work.

I think that after that Celtica, may be a little bit more cautious. They are getting close to learning what she is, and it seems that word spreads fast in the preterdeviant world.

Yes, she's still a youngster and needs to learn patience ;)

Celtica is one of a kind. So far, her identity has not been revealed to the vampires. Keep it up @michelle.gent.
I will be looking forward for the next episode.
