RE: Why Do People Cheat?

in #writing6 years ago

For some people it is their mating strategy to be monogamous, and it is hard to be polygamous. For some people, it is their mating strategy to be polygamous, and it is hard to be monogamous. We always fail at being something we are not.

The problem is we all think everyone is the same in this way or different only as male and female. A big problem is when someone who is naturally monogamous ends up with someone who is not, or the other way as well. These people don't have the same mating strategy.

Science suggests mating strategy is epigenetic. In humans polygamy is more favored in youth, and monogamy when elderly— although more young females favor monogamy in youth than males.

Science sometimes compares humans to Tarsier in comparative social mating scenarios (some faithful, some not)
