RE: Vocab-ability–32 (cern, cri = separate) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)
MY VOCAB PRACTICE.
- Discern
It was difficult to discern the target because of the heavy rain. - Discrimination
Sexual discrimination occurs in competitive environments where it is common to steal power. - Discrimination
The discrimination from the great king fortold a great future where people would be able to travel quickly with machines that run on fuel. - Discrete
The mother was very discrete about her secret life from her family.
I haven't used discrimination with a positive connotation before. Didn't even know you could. Thanks for making the word neutral instead of a programmed evil word from the media. :)
Glad you learned something new. "Discrimination" based on race or creed or gender, etc, is improper.
On the other hand, "discrimination" between right and wrong, between good and bad, is necessary and beneficial.
