RE: Vocab-ability–30 (cend, cand = fire, shine) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

in #writing6 years ago (edited)

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Incense
Last Saturday I had a meeting in a very nice restaurant full of aquarium and well kept gardens. Unluckily this set up attracted a lot of mosquitos and I was incensed by the fact that the waiters took long time to light up some incense to keep those away.

  2. Candle
When I was a teenager I used to light up perfumed candles and locked myself up listening music. Only many years after I discovered that it was a very bad habit inhalating smoke decreasing the level of oxygen indoor.

  3. Incendiary
Joan D'arc fought for her believes and at a very young age led the army of France to win against the English. Sadly she was burnt alive charged of heresy, but her legacy as incendiary heart and hero lives through movies, books and oeuvre d'art.

  4. Incandescent
Do you believe that incandescent passion can last for ever or once the menopause comes and the level of testosterone dyes, there is nothing we can do?
