The Journey of A Thousand Souls

It's a depiction of the afterlife,a limbo between this world and the next. It's another version of the inevitable judgement that many believe will eventually be faced. Each dot is a person's soul, waiting for a chance to be accepted and to move on. Some are there for perhaps a moment, and may think it's a figment of their imagination, before they go off to a better place. But, many have been stuck there, for years;some for a millenia. The only way they can earn their way into whatever is next is to have patience. Of course, some have not made it, whether it was their life before, or their performance while waiting, those that did not meet up to the mark, who seem to stray, simply vanished. However, those who pass will go through the visible gate in the bottom right corner, and for many, that gate is a motivation to those striving for what I'd yet to come.
