RE: Birth of the Neví - Chapter 29 - A'mara Books
Author's Commentary:
It was when I was fixing this scene for point-of-view conflicts that I realized it was Janika's time to shine. And she does! (So do Vanti and Coomar, as Zarma says.)
Why does Zarma indicate that Janika would make a good abári's wife?
Well, most of the time, one is called to be abári in their home country rather than a foreign one. There are exceptions, of course - the events (not yet written) which led to Towani-born Laisen Toban to become abári in Varkevand and the upcoming story where Avicen-born Yewan Avicent is called to be the first abári (in generations, anyway) in Gaskarii. But Zarma has already named Cyanus Ivald as her successor (who is also a more-appropriate age) in Towani so, Janika's best chance at abári leadership is marriage - at least at the moment. However, Zarma may also have a little bit of prophetic ability... or simply noticing the quiet attraction between Janika and Coomar with his outstanding leadership as well.
