Christmas trees. The room is lit up with the scent of the holiday, cheerful and full of peace. I wait for this time, long before it thinks about coming. Daydreaming about the snow-laden boughs from childhood. The perfection of it all. Candy Canes and hot chocolate, mixed with mistletoe and holly. I love the tradition of the Christmas tree. Oh, yes.

From the very top of the tree, the softest of song drifts through the air. Hallelujah! Angels we have heard on high.
Wreaths across America happened this weekend at Arlington Cemetery and all of the National Cemeteries across America. It is a service from self to those that protect our country and an honor to participate. There will be an equal amount of volunteering taking them off of the graves when the season is over. May they rest in peace.
Earlier in the month, there was the White House Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Of course, I always go back to "The House" for punch and cookies. Just kidding!

Awwww! I do so love Christmas, Gillian! @gillianpearce I try to keep it low key in decorating so it is not overwhelming, but, now and then some glitter falls out!

What a wonderful post, Denise! So warm and welcoming. I can feel the Christmas spirit in every photo you shared with us. It's so hard to pick a favourite... But the first one and the photo from the cemetery really spoke to me. We shouldn't forget our loved ones who cannot be with us anymore during this celebration of light and joy.

Yes! Never forget our loved ones! Especially at the holidays. I agree. I went and laid a wreath at the cemetery and walked among the naked, cold oaks, guarding the cemetery.
Passion for the holidays and the celebration of His birth. That is what it is all about!

So close i can't believe it's upon us again and let our love and joy go out to those loved ones we miss dearly my dad passed away on 23rd Dec and my stepson on Christmas day they will be remembered and missed with passion.
Oh, it is so hard to lose a loved one, compounded when it is around a festive holiday. I am so sorry for your losses on these days and always hope that it can somehow it can get to a place where the good memories outweigh the pain.
