Catching up with groups and friends and a HF 21 question

Hello guys, I have much catching up to do since my world is holding me spell bound – my apologies for the disconnect with groups and other friends.
Between recovering from straining a muscle, detoxifying and family emergencies, well the world is grabbing my attention.
Question about HF 21
I quit upvoting myself a while back but to be honest not sure what good it has done and now with Hard Fork 21 (not sure when HF 21 takes effect), maybe it will be best for little fish to upvote ourselves. I am not sure if that will make any difference. What do you think?

I hope life calms down soon for you. You need it to. I know a few people I can pose that question to.
When I first started I upvoted myself and I really didn't notice anything. After joining Asher's Engagement League is when I stopped upvoting, one because it's a better chance to get a better score on the league and it actually seemed to make a difference. I know Asher @abh12345 can explain it much better. A few others had mentioned it too.
I've starting self-voting some posts this week.
Having stake in multiple tokens now and with the move to 50/50, I think self-voting to an 'acceptable standard' (open to different interpretations for sure) will become the norm.
I think for the EL, I'll not deduct for the number of self-votes unless they are greater than the number of posts - what do you think?

I think I read your mind. I was thinking the same thing too.
I agree with that. Upvoting a post is one thing, upvoting your comments is another.
This week I made a change (not quite this one) and stated it in the post. (I don't think anyone has seen it though!)

Thats a good question I had not even thought about that I generally dont upvote myself at all, but maybe it is somehtign I should consider for the future will give it more thought

Personally I always have and always will upvote myself. One of the main reasons to have a stake.
I used to and then there were so many posts about not doing it. I agree .. we need to help ourselves in order to help others. Now with the new Hard Fork all the more reason.
I always feel uncomfortable upvoting myself. I feel uncomfortable with self-promotion 🤦🏼♀️ That said, everything I have read about HF21 and elsewhere suggests that a self vote is not penalizing and would be a sensible use of votes.

I think upvoting your posr wont hurt. But its the same thing if we upvote others- we get 75 percent. Plus self voting makes us look bad, that should be avoided for long run.
