Gratitude challenge and lets keep looking up

This post is in response to @theycallmedan's The Gratitude Challenge.
I was tagged in this challenge by @sumatranate, and I said I would join and it took a while but when I saw a couple of posts on it yesterday it served as a reminder, so here goes

So what is this Gratitude Challenge is all about? Grabbed the below guidelines/questions from @theycallmedan post.

But since I always add photos to my Posts I pondered what would go with this post and came up with these shots looking up in NYC, and why do I think they fit this post, well read on and I will reveal my maybe warped thought process

What has steem done for you?

Steem has been an eye-opener for me to the world of Crypto, I knew so little about it, my Crypto holdings are all steem at this stage, but I at least have an understanding of Crypto now and know of many of the more well-known coins.

It has also brought me into the Blogging world, I was into photography before joining Steem, but I just posted photos and did not write anything in my posts, such as responding to a challenge such as this I would not have done prior to joining steem, now I try and put together with not just photos, but also with a few words describing wither what the photos are of or on occasion some random thoughts that come to mind as I am preparing a post, often my thoughts may wander totally off subject from the photos, but that's how my mind works. And lastly, Steem has enabled me to be a part of a wonderful and caring community and have met so many great people from around the world and developed good friendships, which leads onto the second question.

And another looking up Photo

Have you met some awesome people who have changed your life?

I have met so many awesome people on here and I won't try to name people as I would hate to offend anyone who I happen to miss, I am not terribly active I must admit in the discord channels for various groups other than SteemUSA which I co-guide with @dswigle, and is developing into a busy and fun community, I do belong to a few communities and pop in to see whats going on in them, but I guess for the most part I am a stalker just reading and not saying much, with working a full-time job there are limited hours in the day for steemit, so I use most of that time for visiting, Commenting and interacting with other Steemit members on their posts, and that's why I do not have enough time for chatting in the communities.
And I should mention The Alliance led by @enginewitty, which is the first community I joined and have made many friends in there who I react regularly with on posts if not in the discord chat.

Have you earned some rewards on a post, and maybe bought something useful/cool with the money? (photos please!)

In my just slightly over two years on Steemit I have earned rewards of course, but I have used most of those to powerup my SteemPower and so strictly speaking no I have not bought anything from Steem Earnings, that I could share a photo of, but I did buy quite a few Steem Monster cards and play that daily but again don't put enough time into it to really understand the power of each card and how to use them effectively.

Has Steem been useful as a foundation for you to build an online profile that can never be taken from you?

I was very active on Farcebook before joining Steemit and have many followers there for my photography, but since joining Steem I do not do much on there, as it just does not have the sense of community one can find her eon Steemit, the comments and interactions her eon Steemit are real, personal and so often caring, so can I say Steemit has been a Foundation for an online profile for me, not really, but I can say that I totally enjoy my time on the platform, and do have very strong gratitude for finding this platform and the wonderful people I have met on here

Why Looking up photos?

Well even though the value of Steem may be down at the moment, its potential and the community on the platform are both great so lets be positive and keep looking up

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Thanks for the resteem Appreciated :)

What a great and meaningful post it is so true that Steemit has bought a lot of good friendships together i am really enjoying my time here and has certainly changed me in many ways it's not always about the money but interacting with other people around the world is certainly a great learning process :)

Saw this post a bit late but glad i didn't miss it a very interesting post to read.

Yes it would be nice if steem goes shooting for the moon and is a potential money maker, but even at this low value I still enjoy my time on here and plan to stay with it and all the friend si have met on here

We can always dream and you never know right and most certainly a great social media to be with many great friends here :)

Exactly for me if Steem rises in value its a bonus of course, but the community and friends will keep me here if it doesn't

This is true and likewise :)

Excellent way to incorporate your amazing photography into the gratitude challenge, @tattoodjay! Especially appropriate considering your weekly #WednesdayWalk challenge is always so uplifting to participate in! Thanks for always bringing such beauty and positivity to the blockchain - !tip steem

Thanks for such a kind comment you do really know how to make people feel good about their posts and made me smile

and thanks for the tip

I wish I could say I share all of your positive experiences and learning about
Crypto and its various incarnations from being here on "The Blockchain";
Steemit, Palnet, Weku etc, but in truth I am always lost in a Maelstrom of
Confusing concepts, terminologies that have no application to my life
in "THE REAL WORLD".
I did cash out almost all of my steem/USD about a year ago, got just
Over $400 for over 2 yrs work. My new camera cost more than that,
But at the time I just kept seeing the value of Steem dropping.
People kept telling me "hold on, it will come back up" but
Here we are all this time later and it is still dribbling.
I have met quite a few good people (such as you @tattoodjay my friend)
But I find it hard to keep up with anything that I would call
"a community". My fault, I don't go looking for something to
Upvote or comment on unless, like now, I had VOTE POWER to shed.
So at those times, I go to my feed, look for posts that are either

  1. by a friend or
  2. strike me as interesting
    BUT
in either case # 1 or 2, if the post has already garnered over $1.50, I look
For something that my puny 1¢ upvote will help.
So even though this post was well over my normal restriction, I've
Given you the full 100% upvote JJ.
Love the post and your words. I'm glad you started blogging.

I can understand that it is challenging to keep up with all the developments on the blockchain and I know I do not keep up with them well at all, with Steem being low I think we have to try and focus onthe other things which are good about Steemit, which for me is the friend si have made and interact with on here

thanks for the upvote

This was interesting to read.

Your looking up analogy fits perfectly.

I too know a little more about crypto now, but only in the most basic sense if it.

glad it is not just me who is not an expert on crypto LOL :)

Great photos and good post.

Let's keep this thing up and wait for the better.

Greetings from my friend and I hope you have a great day.
