I was walking down 5th Avenue and saw this art piece on display by the Rockefeller Center , which I thought was a very cool design

This art Piece is called Uraeus by Anselm Kiefer and is made of lead and stainless steel.
Now for some reason I knew that Uraeus is a greek word and is a representation of a sacred Serpent, and was often found on the headresses of ancient Egyptian Dieties.
Now why I knew that I have no idea, my brain stores all kinds of random information LOL.
At first I wasn't sure why this piece was named Uraeus, but then I noticed the serpent climbing up the support.

A cool photo and I share your opinion that the brain stores so many different facts. Sometimes I also notice it and never cease to wonder how interesting the human mind. Perhaps our possibilities are unlimited, but we do not always know how to use them 100 percent.

I just love this piece. It reminds me of a medical symbol, doesn't it, in some ways? I didn't realize Anselm Kiefer did this one in lead, but, it is one of his favorite ways to sculps, right?
I saw some pieces he did years ago at MOMA and even though he has always been a little politically charged, I love how his pieces speak.
I can only imagine walking down the street and having this beauty pop into my path. A most wonderful edit and you did the piece justice! It's is wonderful!
Tip!I dont know the artist at all but I really like htis piece and need to research what else he has done for sure
